National Minimum Wage Amendment – Effective 1 March 2026

From 1 March 2026, the national minimum wage increases to:
R30,23 per ordinary hour worked
This amendment applies across sectors, with specific provisions for certain categories of workers and updated allowances for learners.
Who Does This Apply To?
The updated hourly rate of R30,23 applies to:
- Farm workers
- Domestic workers
- General employees across all industries
Workers employed under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) are entitled to a minimum wage of R16,62 per hour.
