The Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) is proud to announce the appointment of Tafadzwa (Taffie) Chibanguza as CEO Designate, effective 1 July 2025. Chibanguza will officially assume the role of SEIFSA CEO on 1 January 2026, succeeding current CEO Lucio Trentini, who is set to retire in 2027.
The announcement was made by SEIFSA President Elias Monage, who affirmed that this strategic leadership transition reflects SEIFSA’s continued commitment to stability, growth, and transformation in South Africa’s metals and engineering sector.
Until his retirement, Lucio Trentini will remain actively involved in the organisation, providing mentorship and strategic guidance during the transition period. His continued presence ensures institutional continuity and reinforces SEIFSA’s long-standing commitment to advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and sector-wide development.
Tafadzwa Chibanguza brings a wealth of knowledge and proven leadership experience in economic policy and industrial development, making him well-positioned to take SEIFSA into its next chapter.
